Flatland Drive
Castaways RV Resort & Campground
Flatland Drive began, not as a joke, but as a serious effort to blend traditional, hard-driving bluegrass with modern stylings, on April Fool's Day in 2009.  The members of the band hail from either Caroline County, Maryland or Kent County, Delaware, and their proximity is alarmingly close.

In their relatively short time together, the band has shared the stage with the likes of bluegrass giants such as The Seldom Scene, The Lonesome River Band, Dailey and Vincent, The Boxcars, and many other stellar bands in the world of bluegrass.  They have worked very hard to write, find, and sharpen a wide array of material that showcases the instrumental prowess of their players and the respected harmonic talents of their vocalists.

The man is, to put it simply, one of the finest singers you’ll ever hear, and he makes it seem positively effortless.” Joined by four unequivocally talented musicians with Wayne Benson on mandolin, Justen Haynes on fiddle, Keith McKinnon on banjo, and Jerry Cole on bass, this band continues to bring fresh music to the ears while staying true to the tradition that has made them an industry favorite for over two decades.

Castaways RV Resort & Campground
Adam Steffey, Ron Stewart, Gary Hultman, Keith Garrett and Harold Nixon make up the group "The Boxcars." With collective stints with Alison Krauss & Union Station (Adam Steffey), J.D. Crowe & The New South (Ron Stewart, Harold Nixon), Blue Moon Rising (Keith Garrett and Harold Nixon), and most recently The Dan Tyminski Band (Steffey and Stewart), this quintet starts out with an impressive rap sheet. Award winning instrumentalist Ron Stewart will deliver rock solid banjo work, but will also lay down the banjo for the fiddle on some tunes. It's always a rarity to have multiple strong vocalists in the same group, and The Boxcars benefit from strong vocal performances from Keith Garrett, Ron Stewart, and Steffey's signature baritone. They are on Crossroads/Mountain Home.
