Opposite Directions

Opposite Directions is the acoustic rock duo from Ocean City, MD with Darin Engh on vocals, acoustic guitar, bass, keyboard and harmonica and Bob Wilkinson on vocals, acoustic guitar, bass and harmonica. Opposite Directions was formed in 1986 and since then they have played up and down the East coast from Maine to Florida and as far out West as Colorado and Wyoming. While they mostly play in Ocean City, MD these days, they still manage to get out of town to other places in the Mid Atlantic every once in a while. Opposite Directions quickly developed a reputation for their tight harmonies and excellent guitar work. Voted the "Best Acoustic Rock Duo " by Beachcomber Magazine, where ever they are playing is considered the place to be for great acoustic music. You will often hear songs by such artists as James Taylor, Jim Croce, CSNY, America, Jimmy Buffet and others as well as their own songs from their release "Seeds of Change" but Opposite Directions also covers a wide range of musical styles from blue grass to modern rock to blues to reggae.

Ready to take the Tri-State area by storm enters Garden State Radio, central Jersey’s newest and youngest cover band, playing pop-rock hits from the 80’s, 90’s and today. Fronted by American Idol's Kelly Caruso, this 5-piece formation is the hottest young outfit around with every member in their early twenties. Collectively, the musicians in Garden State Radio have been featured on American Idol, Fox’s Fearless Music, MTV, the Vans Warped Tour, and have been seen touring the country with various major label artists over the past few years.

 Jim Long is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has been a constant on the Jersey Shore folk scene for 26 years. He has played in many top bands in the tri-state area and is currently performing with Blue Sky Duo and The Danny White Band. Through the use of self-recorded backing tracks, Jim and his Blue Sky Duo partner Joe Freda have created a new standard in live performing.

From their folk instruments (upright bass, fiddle, and acoustic guitars), to their approach to music and performance, “The 19th Street Band” has followed the traditions of The Carter Family and The Kingston Trio while also integrating modern elements of Americana, Country, and Rock ‘n Roll. “The 19th Street Band” has built its fan base the old school way, one fan at a time. They play hundreds of shows a year, from backyard BBQ’s to honky-tonks to amphitheaters. Every time they play, their music and energy connects with a new person in the crowd.

Steal The Sky is a new band assembled from members of the area's top bands. Stephen and Leon came from Star 69, a ground breaking three piece that performed steadily for the past six years. Meghan left her DE based band called Hyjinx after working with Stephen in the studio on an original project. Last but certainly not least, our drummer is Billy Brehony. Billy was the drummer for Bloodhound Gang, selling 6 million records and touring internationally for almost 10 years.

Create a drink using one or more of Seacrets Handcrafted Spirits:
Seacrets Spiced Rum, Coconut Rum, Orange Vodka, Lemon Drop Vodka, Grapefruit Vodka, American Whiskey, Bourbon Whiskey, White Rum, Vodka and/or Gin… And name it!

** The name of your drink must be prohibition themed.
This refers to the name only. The name of your drink can relate to speakeasy slang, pop-culture, the mob/mafia, music/jazz and/or anything else associated to the prohibition-era from 1920 – 1933. Get creative!

Fruit: Lemon, Lime, Orange, Cherry, Olives
Sodas: Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Lemonade, Club Soda, Ginger Ale, Tonic, Iced Tea, Ting (a lightly carbonated Jamaican grapefruit drink)

Your recipe will be made to your specific instructions and sampled by a panel of judges. The top 5 finalists will be invited to the “Name That Drink” Live Taste Testing on Thursday, October 26th during Ocean 98’s “Live Lixx at Sixx” Show with special guests Monkee Paw. Seacrets owner Leighton Moore will judge the top 5 drinks and decide the 2017 Name That Drink Contest Winner.
