Snow Hill
The 24th Annual Spring Delmarva Birding Weekend will be held April 25-28. We will see the late wintering waterfowl (including Common Loons in breeding plumage) and early neotropical migrants that are on full display in the mid-Atlantic during late April.

164 species were tallied during the 2019 Spring Delmarva Birding Weekend, and highlight species including Prothonotary Warbler, Piping Plover, Northern Parula, American Redstart, Barred Owl, and Black Skimmer. Field trips are held on foot, in kayaks and canoes, and on boats, including an all-day experience to Smith Island in the heart of the Chesapeake Bay.

Delmarva Pollinator Festival & 12th Annual Native Plant Sale
Lower Shore Land Trust

This premier FREE event is the largest pollinator festival in Maryland, Delaware, or Virginia, and brings together more than 750 students, plant-lovers, vendors, community members, nonprofit partners & more, to celebrate our native pollinators.

As we all know, pollinator populations have been on a sharp decline over the past decade and that is a big problem because “1 out of every 3 bites of food we eat requires pollination.” Furthermore, “more than 90% of all known flowering plants, and almost all fruits, vegetables and grains, require pollination to produce crops.

This all-ages, family-friendly event, along the Pocomoke River, will include live music, local food, crafts, kids-activities, and much more! This event helps to educate community members about the benefits of our resource-based industries. Attendees can also purchase from hundreds of native plants and take them to their home or business – further supporting the pollinators that give us healthy, local foods.

Plant pre-orders are highly recommended to guarantee availability. Stay tuned for plant list and link to pre-order form!
