Ocean City Life-Saving Museum
For this year’s Ocean City History Week the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum is offering a variety of events and activities to highlight the town’s unique coastal history.
 
On Sunday, October 11th, tune in from the comfort of your home or hotel room for an hour-long live broadcast where the Museum will share several never before seen artifacts.  Be sure to register so you don't miss this live broadcast!
 
HISTORY WEEK EVENTS Include:
 
FREE Admission for all Delmarva Locals: During history week we are offering free admission to all Eastern Shore locals. If you live on the Delmarva Peninsula stop by and enjoy the museum free of charge! 
 
Fall Photo opportunity: Be sure to stop by the museum for a fall photo opportunity. Pose with our display of fall flowers, pumpkins, and hay located on the boardwalk in front of our shark display and anchor. 
 
History of our Surfman: Monday through Friday at 1:00 pm join us for a free program as we take a close look at the equipment that was used by the United States Life-Saving Service to conduct a rescue. This program will be held inside the museum’s boat room. 
 
All Things History Store Sale: Enjoy discounts on a wide variety of books, DVDs, and apparel in our museum store. 
 
Annual Spirit Award: Do you know someone who has helped preserve local history? If so, we invite you to nominate them for the Spirit Award. Both individuals and organizations are eligible. Please visit HERE for nominee requirements. 
 
Saturday, October 10th: Book signing with local author Anna Dolle Bushnell from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Anna will be signing her newest book: Dolle’s Candyland, Inc. 
 
Monday, October 12th: Tour & Book Discussion - The Ocean City Life Saving Station Museum has partnered with Worcester County Library to bring you a tour of the museum where you will learn about the US Life-Saving Service and what life was like as a keeper. Along with the tour, there will be a book discussion of In the Heart of the Sea. To register for this event please contact Program Director Elena Coelho at 443-783-6164
 
Tuesday, October 13th: Film Showing of Ash Wednesday Storm: Enjoy watching the storm of 1962 movie from the comfort of your own home. This iconic storm swept the Atlantic coast forever altering the island’s landscape. Worcester County Library will be streaming this cinema at 2:00 pm. Kevin has been playing music professionally in Ocean City, MD since 1993.  Kevin recorded his first album, Going Home, in 1996, a mix of tempos and styles. Kevin's second album Troubador was released in 2001. Troubador is a very layered and meticulously recorded CD created with a large band and encompassing many musical styles. In 2006 Kevin's third album, Scenic Route was released. Scenic Route is a fun lighthearted CD with an eclectic mix of originals and covers, including covers of the Beatles, Elvis Costello, The Church and more. Originals such as A.D.D., Stairway to Kevin, King Midas, and the crowd favorite, Redneck Nascar Honey, which has received a lot of airplay in the Maryland/Delaware area.

Join Us Online
Ocean City Life-Saving Museum
Puppets Laughing Sal and Sammy the Surfman will meet with special guests, such as artists, musicians, cooks, scientists, and farmers, and together they will learn about the native wildlife and history of Ocean City. This online puppet show is designed for children ages one to five. Each month we will explore a different topic, so be sure to tune in for this fun, entertaining, and educational program! 
 
Little Learners Program is held every 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month, excluding holidays.

Walk the old historic district of Ocean City and hear your storyteller recount over a dozen ghost stories featuring spirits that still linger in the old buildings and hotels.  Ocean City also features a property that hit the "Haunted Trifecta" - a murder, suicide and accidental death occurring at the same location.
 
This tour runs between the Inlet and 4th street and is approximately an hour and a half of scary stories and Ocean City's mysterious history.
