A group of talented young chess players competed last weekend in the 2013 Chess Tournament at the Wicomico County Civic Center. Emerging atop the elementary division were Alexander Emmert, Salisbury, second place; Joseph Schwartz, Eden, third place; and Pranay Sanwal, Lewes, first place. Emmert, from Salisbury Christian School, is the son of Drs. Jeffrey and Elizabeth Emmert; Schwartz from Worcester Prep, is the son of Drs.
