Bank Robbery Suspect Eludes Police In Resort

By: Shawn J. Soper via Maryland Coast Dispatch

OCEAN CITY -- Ocean City Police on Thursday were still seeking a suspect wanted in connection with the robbery of the Susquehanna Bank on 94th Street early Wednesday morning amid new information that appears to indicate the suspect was in no hurry to flee the scene.

Around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, an unidentified suspect walked into the Susquehanna Bank on 94th Street and demanded money, received an undisclosed amount of cash and then casually walked back to his awaiting vehicle blocks away.

According to an update provided by the OCPD, it now appears the suspect parked his vehicle in the area of West Biscayne Drive and Arctic Ave. in the nearby Little Salisbury neighborhood and approached the Susquehanna Bank on foot.

After robbing the bank shortly after 10 a.m., the suspect then casually walked south on West Biscayne Drive to his waiting vehicle. The suspect then traveled through Little Salisbury on West Biscayne to Pacific Ave., but was not seen again.

The suspect is described as a white male with a thin and muscular build in his early to mid-20s. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a red baseball cap, a red polo shirt and khaki dress pants.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts or a possible vehicle description is urged to contact Crime Solvers of the Lower Shore at 410-548-1776. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

In addition, anyone with information may also call OCPD Detective Nick Simpson at 410-520-5349.
