Are you ready? Ready or not, here we go and I think this is gonna be one wild and wacky summer. Excitement is everywhere I go and for me, in no small measure, because of the fabulous music. A few new venues have jumped onboard the Coconut Times Party Train - Bahama Mama’s where music is preppin’ to go big time for the summer starting with Tony Vega on Wed. and Johnny Mojo on Thur. Now this is the 132nd St. location but word is entertainment will also be offered on the bayside deck of the downtown Bahama Mama’s soon.
    The Blue Ox is getting into the act with popular DJ Jeremy on Fri. and locals’ favorites Colossal Fossil Sauce on Sat. Plus for the holiday weekend, Patrick Wise will play on their deck Sun. and DJ Jeremy will return on Mon.
    The Original Greene Turtle presents the latest music from the area’s best DJ’s every night and live music from Galaxy Collective will have the joint jumpin’ every other Wed.
    The Reel Inn Dock Bar & Grill is set to go with music by Danny Shivers today, Clayton Perry on Sat. and Tim Cyphers & The Animal Sun. This dockside location in Harbour Island (14th St.) is a hidden jewel offering some amazing cuisine as well as a popular place to run into your friends.
    I hear the Rio Grande Pool Bar was off the hook for their opening parties last weekend and certainly this one will be a hit too with Chris Button & Joe Mama on Fri., Kevin Poole & Joe Mama on Sat. and Monkee Paw on Sun.  That Joe Mama gets around, doesn’t he? That’s why I’ve dubbed him percussionist to the stars.
    Old School is one busy band this weekend starting at Coconuts on Fri., Sat. at Jive and Wed. at BJ’s. Check out their awesome vocals.    Macky’s is full steam ahead, too, with DJ Casper returning for Fri. & Thur. (Little Black Dress Night), DJ Cowboy on Sat.; and the first theme night Tues. with DJ Darth Fader. Plus every Wed. is live music with the Kaleb Brown Band. Kaleb’s band & Zion Reggae Band will play for the grand opening celebration Sat. at Bungalow 7 on Rt. 50. There’s a skate competition too. Check out the ad and join the fun starting at 11am Sat.
    The Clarion’s Lenny’s Beach Bar & Grill begins their oceanside deck parties this weekend with none other than Arizona. Stick around for some awesome dinner to hear them inside as well, in the Ocean Club.
    We can hear our favorite classic album rock band, Tranzfusion, inside at Coins where they put on a party; and outside at M.R. Ducks on Sun. Love ‘em!
