Hey, folks. We’re havin’ quite a ride this Fall so far, aren’t we? We were so fortunate to come through Hurricane Sandy with minimal destruction compared to our seaside towns to the north. Please do whatever you can to send aid - it may be us next time. I think the one thing here that we’ll all miss is Fager’s Island’s iconic pier and gazebo with the beautiful angel statue atop. Pictures circulated of it washing to shore and two employees saving it. A small miracle indeed.
    Halloween went off as planned and the parties were fabulous. I hit five or six of them myself. This issue is my Halloween gift to all you readers with page after page of costume pictures. Ocean City knows how to party, right?
    This weekend Fager’s Island continues that party tradition with DJ Hook providing music on the deck dancing floor. Kevin Poole moves his Fri. deck party to Sat. followed by DJ Groove and Trip Wire on the main stage. Remember, Everett Spells continues the Sunday Jazz Brunch playing that magic sax and crooning a tune or two.
    BJ’s is also one of the best venues at the beach for guaranteed excellent music. This weekend begins with the amazing Full Circle. No other band continues to stretch the boundaries of their talents like this one, with shows featuring new and current material added to their repertoire on a regular basis. As any band member will tell you, getting five people together to rehearse new songs is hard, and they do it! Saturday night will feature Old School keeping the dance floor packed with ‘old school’ rock n roll. Love the vocals from Linda Sears and of course, Chris Button on guitar is always amazing.
    Ocean City is well blessed with amazing vocalists and Lauren Glick is certainly among the best. Don’t ask me for a favorite ‘cause our divas are all dynamite. Anyway, Lauren & Mike, The Moodswingers, will perform Fri. at Johnny’s Pizza Pub. Love the party atmosphere there - and great pizza. Sat., DJ Rupe will rock the party and Thurs. stop in for Happy Hour to hear Chris play again with his duo or trio, Simple Truth. They alternate Thur. w/ djs Tuff & Wax.
    Fun was what we had last week at the Ocean Club’s 49th St. reunion. Always great to get the whole party crowd together to reminisce about the old days while we’re busy making new memories. Here’s another place where you can count on great music from a variety of bands to keep you dancing all night long. This weekend the ever-popular Power Play gets it on.
    Congratulations to Dr. Lenny Berger who will be honored with a gala event to take place Sat. at his hotel, The  Fontainbleau Clarion Resort Hotel. He is being recogized for his service to our community in his many philanthropic endeavors with the Hal Glick Distingished Service Award. Looking forward to this party.
    Hooters of West Ocean City has turned into a very fun place to gather for great food and entertainment and it’s right at the end of my street - Keyser Pt. Rd. Cool! A winning venue for football and music from two of our favorites - Monkee Paw tonight and Randy Lee Ashcraft and the Salt Water Cowboys on Wed. Come on out and have a hoot with the Hooter’s girls.
    Seacrets also continues its tradition of great music with Second Majesty on the Tiki Stage Fri. Then Sat. it’s a three-ring power hit with Full Circle at 5pm, 9 Mile Roots following at 9, both on the Tiki Stage, and Cheap Thrills in the Morley Hall. And the Thursday parties continue with DJ’s.
    Happy Hours are also very entertaining at the 19th Hole in West O.C. with Chris Button Fri and Louis Wright both Sat. and for their excellent Sunday Brunch.
    The Skye Bar may be closed but the Philly George Project continues to put on a great show every Fri. at Galaxy 66. And now DJ Rob Cee will rock late night Saturdays. Cool!
