How ya doin’ out there? Finally got the high temperatures we’ve been asking for; well, actually not me. I’m quite content to stay at 70-75 degrees. Maybe I should move to Hawaii, huh? Not. I would miss the changing of the seasons so I’ll take the cold and the hot and everything in between to be in our amazing town, Ocean City.
    The town that has such an amazing place as Seacrets. We can always count on Seacrets to present the best in rock and reggae. This Sunday is no exception as we’re being treated to a Reggae Fest featuring several popular reggae artists. The Wheeland Brothers, Session Rockers, Dub City Renegades and Dale & the Z Dubs will be here at 3 pm. on the beach. Then stick around for more reggae with 9 Mile Roots on the Tiki Stage.
    Congratulations to Smitty McGee’s celebrating their 24th anniversary Thur., June 20, with music by Randy Lee Ashcraft & The Salt Water Cowboys at 4pm followed by the Bo Dickerson Band at 8pm. Lots of specials and fun to be had all day with Dawn and her excellent crew.
    Looking for a good place to go tonight (Fri.) for excellent rockin’ blues? No problem ... head to High Stakes for Lower Case Blues. These guys deliver the goods ... every time. Or maybe you’d like classic rock w/ One Night Stand at the Taphouse; or Old School at Hooters.
    Sat. you might want to get into the cool groove with No Byscuyts playing at BJ’s; or check out Old School playing at Coins; or Lauren Glick & The Mood Swingers at Johnny’s; or One Night Stand at Jive; or how ‘bout Dr. Harmonica & Rocket 88 playing at the new Bayside Taphouse. That’s right .. the Doc is back! He (Mark) has such a way with a turn of words and his band is always top-notch. Love that sax from Alan.
    The Ocean Pines Yacht Club is up and running after all their renovations and the music there is heating up the summer nights. Check it out: Tranzfusion tonight, 2 Much Stuff w/ Joe Smooth on Sat., and Ginger on Sun. What a great lineup.
    Making one of only a few appearances in Ocean City this season is Bird Dog & The Road Kings playing Sun. at M.R. Ducks. Great lineup there, too, with great country tunes from the Bo Dickerson Band (also at Smitty’s on Sat.) on Fri.; and Kings Ransom featuring Danny Shivers on Sat. In honor of our visiting firefighters, the Jim Long Band will perform on Tues. for a special Ducks party.
