Click Here!BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity golf team got back to its winning ways this week, edging rival Washington High at Green Hill on Tuesday for its seventh match win against just one second-place finish.
The Seahawks and Jaguars have battled neck-and-neck all season with Decatur winning the first six matches of the year. Last week, however, Washington edged the Seahawks by just four strokes at the Bay Club. Decatur returned the favor on Tuesday, beating Washington by just three strokes in the team match.
Decatur finished with a team-low 168, followed closely by Washington at 171. Bennett was third at 183. Andrew Urban led Decatur with a team-low 40, followed by Delaney Iacona at 42. Matt Kristick, Danny Parker and Brooks Holloway each scored 43. Bennett’s Ayden Whitehead was the match’s medalist with a low score of 36.
