Click Here!BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity track teams stayed on a roll last week with the boys winning their Bayside meet by 71 total team points and the girls outdistancing the field by 210 total team points.
The Decatur girls finished with a remarkable 276 total team points in the second meet of the season, while Snow Hill was second with 66 and Parkside was third with 63. In the relays, the Decatur girls finished first in the 4x400 and first in the 4x800, while taking second in the 4x200 and third in the 4x100. In the 1,600, Chloe FauntLeroy came in first, Lauren Buckman was second and Jenna Abbaticchio was third.
In the 100, it was Rebecca Lederman finishing third and Amari Harman coming in fourth. In the 3,200, Buckman was first, Alexandra Tushup was third and Anastasia Priest was fourth. Lederman finished third in the 200, while Jessica Galuardi was fourth. Galuardi finished first in the 100 hurdles, while Isabella Iampieri was second and Emily Kolarik was third. Iampieri was first in the 300 hurdles, followed by Bianca Alvarado and Kolarik. In the 400, Decatur’s Ravyn Saunders was second and Elizabeth Rougcher was fifth. FauntLeroy was first in the 800, while Ravyn Saunders was second and Rougcher was fifth.
In the field events, Decatur’s Christine Timko was first in the pole vault, while Kate Blosveren was second. Ameerah Lewis finished first in the discus, while Ashley Hrebick was second. Lewis was second in the shot put and Antonia Green was third. In the triple jump, Alexandra Saunders was second, Gabrielle Ortega was fifth and Hannah Wilson was sixth. Tiarah Waters finished first in the long jump, followed by Buckman (2nd) and Shakirra Collick (5th). Finally, Alexandra Saunders was first in the high jump, while Wilson was second and Kolarik was fourth.
The Decatur boys finished first in the meet with 210.5 points, followed by Parkside with 139 and Snow Hill with 70. In the relays, the Seahawks were first both the 4x400 and the 4x200, while finishing third in the 4x100 and fourth in the 4x800.
Lance Ward finished third in the 1,600, while Kevin Herbert was fourth. James Mapp finished third in the 100. In the 110 hurdles, it was Spenser Cardenas finishing second, Tyler Coppinger in third and Lucas Duker in fourth. Herbert came in second in the 3,200, followed by Ben Rakowski (3rd) and Jacob Galuardi (6th). Mapp was second in the 200. Cardenas was first in the 300 hurdles while Duker was fifth. In the 400, it was Christopher David first and Dan Winters third. Ward finished second in the 800, while David was fifth and Winters was fourth.
In the field events for Decatur, Justin Hommel was first in the pole vault, while Sonny Aroh was third and Tashawn Collins was fourth. Tyheam Purnell finished third in the discus while Connor Neville was fourth. Nick Craven was second in the shot put, followed by Ty Purnell (3rd) and Brandom Storm (4th). Cameron Gaynor was third in the triple jump, followed by Duker (4th) and Cardenas (5th). Cardenas was also fifth in the long jump, while Parker finished second in the high jump and Gaynor was fifth.
