    Well, friends...We did it! We made it through another winter. We have reached the middle of March relatively unscathed and all in one piece! Success!
    With all of this mild weather, I'd say that we started the month off more like a lamb than a lion, wouldn't you? No matter, though. There's plenty of time, especially this week, to let your mane down and do a little "roaring". St. Patrick's Day is upon us, after all.
    St. Patrick's Day is typically the day that gets it all going for us here in Ocean City. It's the "gateway holiday" for the rest of the year. So what are your plans? There certainly isn't a shortage of things to do!
    On  Saturday, March 17th at 11am, The Delmarva Irish-American Club will be holding their Irish Festival at 45th Street Village. So deck yourself out in your finest green attire; gather up your friends and family; and indulge in some food and spirits while you wait for the parade. The parade starts promptly at noon at 59th Street and heads south to 45th... and never disappoints when it comes to entertainment!
    After the parade, be sure to keep the Irish festivities going and visit Seacrets right up the street at 49th Street and 'de bay! On tap for entertainment that afternoon starting at 1pm: Back 2 Life, The Jon Maurer Band, and The Jim Long Band. Once the sun sets, stick around for musical performances from Second Majesty and Joe Bachman & The Crew.
    Fresh from a handful of east coast dates - ranging from Massachussets all the way to Key West - Joe Bachman & The Crew will be keeping the party going all night long in the Morley Hall Nite Club both Friday, March 16th & Saturday the 17th. They cover a wide variety of upbeat hits from the ‘80s up through today. From Journey to Katy Perry to The Ramones...     Fager's Island will also have a few things to check out this weekend. On the 16th, DJ Hook will be on the deck at 9pm, spinning everything from reggae to rock. Ocean City classic rock veterans AND Coconut Times 2009 Entertainer of the Year, Tranzfusion, will be on the stage inside at 9:30pm, so be sure to be in a dancing mood. They really know how to make the masses get up and move! I'm really partial to these guys as they are so dedicated to maintaining that "vintage" feel. I love, love, LOVE the organ. I'm a sucker for that mid to late 60's sound!
    On the 17th, Fager's will be kicking their St. Pat's party off at 2pm with Opposite Directions on the deck. Later in the evening, come back to the Island to catch DJ Groove at 9pm for the deck dance party. At 10pm, take a walk on the wild side with Animal House, as they take the stage inside and rock out to party staples from the ‘50s to today!
    So many bands and DJ's; so little time! I hope to see you out and about this St. Patty's Day weekend! Stay safe and responsible and make sure you stick one of your friends with designated driver duty... or hey... Just cab it!
