Don't let the brief lull in activity around town fool you...The entertainment calendar this week is still chock full of great live music! Take advantage of the glorious weather and the light traffic while Ocean City is still a little on the quieter side. Have you been curious about a certain bar or restaurant? Been wanting to try something new? Now's the time to check things out before the masses descend upon us and lines are wrapping around buildings.
    How about our friends at Seacrets on 49th Street in the bay? They're serving breakfast up from 8am-11am every Saturday and Sunday now. Bring your trunks and your bikinis and come early for a morning nosh. Afterwards, secure yourself a raft or a spot at one of the high top tables in the bay. That's definitely the place to be when the sun is shining! While you're hanging out at "Jamaica, USA" check out some of the daytime entertainment that they have lined up for the great outdoor stages.
    This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the always popular, always entertaining Jim Long Band will be playing at 5pm. On Saturday the 9th, enjoy the musical stylings of High Five at 6pm in the tiki bar. If you're around on the weekdays and are in need of a refreshing cocktail and some live music, Seacrets has Full Circle on Monday the 11th; Opposite Directions on Tuesday the 12th; and on the 13th and 14th, Table Ten will be bringing their very own brand of rock to the tiki bar. All the weekday entertainment begins at 5pm.
    Did you happen to catch the first two theme parties at Macky's Bayside Bar and Grill? Holy moly. Talk about a crazy time! It's been a long time since I have seen a dancefloor so jam-packed. Macky's has some loyal patrons that would never think of missing a single one of these theme parties. I can't say that I blame them either, since DJ Darth Fader is at the controls! Maybe I'm biased, since ol' Darth is a good friend, but he is one heck of a DJ. He gives the people what they want, but he is always throwing a curve ball in the mix to keep the party people on their toes. So, you want to hear some old school hip-hop? No, wait...You want a sweet mashup. No! Wait, you want '77 punk rock, but you also want that latest dubstep song you heard at that house party on 94th street, BUT after that you want to hear that song by that band Fun. In a nutshell, Darth Fader has it all and will play it all. Just smile real pretty and ask nicely.
    Be sure to catch DJ Darth Fader at this week's theme party at Macky's on Tuesday the 12th. The theme is 'Revenge of the Nerds', which gives you the perfect opportunity to get all sorts of geeky for the occasion. Prizes are given throughout the night, so be creative with your get-up!
