The Pour House

By: Jenny Samuels via Coconut Times
While you’re in downtown Ocean City this weekend in the heart of the Dew Tour, make a stop at The Pour House on Wicomico Street for the best wings, shrimp, and burgers at the beach. Open for lunch, and serving food through late night, The Pour House features food, music, Keno®, pool tables, a juke box, simulcast horse racing, and an array of craft beers on tap.
Happy Hour is from 3-7 PM on Monday-Friday, all day and all night Wednesday, and 9 PM until close on Sunday. On Thirsty Thursdays, craft beer and Fireball® are on special. The Pour House presents a ton of live entertainment, including the best country and rock music in the region. DJ Moonshine spins boot-stomping country music on Friday nights. Live bands rock the House on Saturday nights. Sunday presents trivia at 7 PM and DJ Styler at 9:30 PM. Wednesday is acoustic night, and Thirsty Thursday showcases DJ Skip Dixon. Sports broadcasting—including NASCAR, baseball, and basketball—is featured on plenty of easy-to-see televisions and a 9-foot projector screen with surround sound.
Fresh, homemade Crab Cakes and Crab Dip are very popular choices on The Pour House menu. Served with crackers and toast points, the Crab Dip is creamy, cheesy, and topped with a generous serving of Old Bay seasoning.
The Wings are incredible too. In fact, The Pour House is a contender in the upcoming Kickin’ Wing Fling – Hot Wing Cook Off at the nearby Marina Deck Restaurant on Sunday, June 30th. I recommend the Pour House Wings, basted in a house specialty sauce consisting of teriyaki and a touch of wasabi. Sweet and delicious, these crispy wings have an extra kick. Flavored with Old Bay seasoning, the Eastern Shore Wings are a local’s favorite. You can also order your wings served naked, mild, spicy garlic, chipotle BBQ, or buffalo hot.
The awesome staff at The Pour House is another great reason to visit the establishment on the corner of 501 Baltimore Avenue & Wicomico Street in downtown OC. Say hello to Jeff, Anita, Steve, Kristin, and Barbarella—just a few friendly faces waiting to serve you. They’ll tell you all about the daily dinner specials, such as Cheesesteak Subs or Soft Shell Sandwiches. Rotating specials have included such favorites as Ribs, Flounder Sandwiches, Angus Burgers, and BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches—each for $6 or less.
The kitchen is always cooking up goodies like Swiss Mexicana Quesadilla—a flour tortilla with Swiss cheese mixed with onion, salsa, sour cream, and special sauce. Nacho Supreme is large enough to satisfy two hefty appetites. Topped with lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, jalapeño slices, two cheeses, sour cream, and salsa, the Nacho Supreme is your choice of chicken or pulled pork over corn tortilla chips. Onion Rings, Chicken Tenders, Fried Shrimp, and Mozzarella Sticks are a few classic appetizers available at The Pour House. Add cheese and bacon to the hand-cut, golden brown Pour House Fries, or try the Jalapeño Poppers for deep-fried jalapeño peppers stuffed with cream cheese and served with sweet chili sauce.
Steamed Shrimp is available by the pound or half-pound, served with onions and cocktail sauce. Or, try the Shrimp Salad for a secret recipe bursting with fresh and spicy Eastern Shore flavor. Daily lunch specials are also offered, along with craft flights, natty boh pints, and fresh-squeezed orange crushes.
Craft beer becomes more and more popular each year, and The Pour House is on top of the trend. On tap this week are Fat Tire, Dogfish Head, Angry Orchard, Evolution Lot 3, Lancaster Strawberry Wheat, Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, Sam Adam’s Lager, and more.
Check out the menu at The Pour House, and stay for the entertainment and downtown fun.
