The Capitol Theatre on Worcester Street was showing the following movies: Walk on the Wild Side, Samar, Madison Avenue, Cape Fear, The Night Creature, The Outsider and Lonely Are The Brave.
Captain’s Hill was being advertised as the “gracious new waterfront community” west on Route 50. Now here in the ad was the term “West Ocean City” used.
23 West in the Westward Ho Motel was inviting guests … “Welcome to Ocean City’s 1962 Dining Attraction.”
Bill Gibbs’ famous Hide-A-Way Cocktail Lounge was located in the Stowaway Motel on 22nd Street and appearing nightly was Connie Gibbs and her All Stars.
An editorial read, “The obvious attempts of insurance companies to avoid their just obligations following the March 6-7 storm here has turned the stomachs of practically everyone connected with this Maryland resort. Local residents are still shaking their heads over the antics of adjustors who, on orders from higher up, danced nimbly aside whenever a good argument for wind damage arose.”
