SNOW HILL -- A local partnership to promote wineries and breweries on the lower shore earned statewide recognition at an awards ceremony earlier this month.

Worcester County Tourism, the Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association and D3Corp collaborated to create “Toast Our Coast, Delmarva’s Wine and Ale Trail,” and their efforts earned them the Marketing Partnership Award at the Maryland Tourism and Travel Summit on Nov. 15.

“Over the past few years, Delmarva has joined the growing local wine and brewery movement with the opening of award-winning wineries and craft microbreweries,” said Worcester County Tourism Director Lisa Challenger. “To offer the Ocean City visitor an additional attraction and opportunity to experience the lower shore, we collaborated on a multi-state and multi-county initiative to promote the many local wineries and craft breweries on Delmarva, all of which are located within an hour’s drive of the resort.”
