Click Here!OCEAN CITY -- Frances R. Roache, 93, a 4-year resident of Ocean City and previously of Annapolis and Cheverly, Md., died on Oct. 21, 2012.
She was born Jan. 21, 1919 in Leonardtown, Md. to the late Francis Gerald and Daisy Mae Clements.Frances was the oldest of three brothers and nine sisters. She attended St. Mary’s Academy, Leonardtown, Md. and in her youth, she played saxophone and violin in her father’s dance band. During the 1980's, she owned and operated “Fran & Jack’s Ceramics” in Edgewater, Md. Frances loved entertaining, dancing, arts and crafts, ceramics and hairdressing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard E. “Sparky” Roache whom she married on June 17, 1939 and who died in 1980 and by one grandchild.
Frances is survived by five sons, Bernie Roache of Ocean City, Ray Roache of New Smyrna, Fla., Bill Roache of Ocean City, John Roache of Ocean City and Michael Roache of Mims, Fla.; three daughters, Lorraine Raiden of Purceville, Va., Mary Frances Lutzio of Annapolis, Md. and Terry Looney of Ocean City; three sisters, Rita Brawner of Nanjemoy, Md., Geraldine Rice of Nogal, N.M. and Mary Clara Means of Reidoso, N.M.; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Friends were invited to Frances' Life Celebration from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 25 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, Md. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 26 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Road, Edgewater, Md. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, Md.
