We Remember Those We Have Lost

Raymond C. McAllister, Jr.
BERLIN -- Raymond Clinton McAllister, Jr. age 83, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at his home.

Born in Newark, N.J., he was the son of the late Raymond Clinton McAllister, Sr. and Edna Parsons McAllister Quillen. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Carey McAllister, in 2007.

He is survived by his sons, Steven R. McAllister and his wife Helen of Milford, Del., and Randy McAllister of Berlin. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Michelle McAllister and Taryn McAllister, and nieces, Betsy Clendaniel, Sandy Phillips and nephew John McAllister. He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel G. McAllister, and sister, Betty Ann Carter. He is survived by his brother-in-law, C. Kenneth Carter.

Mr. McAllister was a graduate of Goldey Beacom Business School in Wilmington, Del. He had worked for Scott and Wimbrow, Inc., in road construction for 31 years and later owned and operated McAllister Sand and Gravel Company for 20 years. He was an Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a member of Boggs-Disharoon Post #123 in Berlin for over 60 years, and a member of the Improved Order of Redmen in Fruitland.

A funeral service was held at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin. Rev. Dr. Olin Shockley officiated. Interment followed in Sunset Memorial Park in Berlin. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to the Worcester County Humane Society, P.O. Box 48, Berlin, Md. 21811


Mary Hazel Martin

SNOW HILL -- Mary Hazel Martin, 89, of Snow Hill, died Monday Nov. 19, 2012 at Snow Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation center.

She was the daughter of the late Charles Albert Hodges and Susie Jane Watkins.

Mary is survived by a son, Bill Martin of Little River, S.C.; a daughter, Connie Gordy and her spouse Chip of Ocean City; a brother, N.M. Hodges of New Market, Tenn.; a sister, Teresia Murph and her spouse Jim of New Market, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Gina Buckner and Tonya Nelson; two great-grandchildren, Ty Buckner and Carlah Nelson; and two great-great-grandchildren, Tyonna Buckner and Ty Buckner, Jr.

Friends may call on Saturday, Nov., 24 2012 between 6 and 8 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City, Tenn. Entombment will follow on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Jefferson City, Tenn.
