BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team got its 2016 season off to a fast start this week with a 14-11 win over Washington, D.C.-area powerhouse Bullis on Tuesday afternoon.

With a roster jammed with veteran upperclassmen, the outlook is bright for the Worcester girls this season but the Mallards have a schedule to match. The first big challenge came in the season-opener on Tuesday against Bullis, a top prep team from the D.C. area.

The two teams battled back and forth all afternoon, but in the end it was Worcester coming out on top with the big 14-11 win. The Mallards travel across the bridge this weekend to compete in the always challenging Karl Wolf Tournament.
